It's true for recovery from a real estate bubble too. Overall, many economists expect the national economy to bounce back later in 2009, perhaps as soon as this summer. Some metropolitan areas, like Springdale, are poised for an even swifter recovery.

That's the opinion of Forbes.com in its just released list of "The Best Cities for Recession Recovery." Right behind top ranked Austin-Round Rock, Texas is the Springdale metro area. Boulder, CO, Huntsville, AL., and San Antonio round out the Top Five.

With the worldwide headquarters of Wal-Mart and Tyson Foods located here, combined with the nanotechnology research being conducted at the University of Arkansas, Springdale is ready to take advantage of a quick rebound out of the national downturn.
