Northwest Arkansas Community College located between Rogers and Bentonville was founded in 1989 and has grown in enrollment to more than 4,200 students since the first classes were held in August 1990. Nearly 400 classes are taught during the day, night and on the weekends at 13 different locations throughout Northwest Arkansas including Springdale, and at the college's main location in Rogers.
NWACC offers the Associate of Arts degree for students transferring to a four-year institution, 15 Associate of Applied Science degrees leading to employment opportunities, and many other certificate programs. NWACC opened its doors to 1,200 students in August 1990 and now has in excess of 4,800 college credit students, making it one of the largest and fastest growing two-year college in Arkansas. An additional 4,000 students are served by the NWACC Shewmaker Center For Workforce Technology. More than 3,000 students are served by the NWACC Adult Education Department.
NWACC was founded by a vote of the people of Bentonville and Rogers on August 15, 1989. NWACC is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. The commitment of NWACC to life-long learning can be seen in the quality of instruction it offers, and the variety of programs it has designed to move students into the job market in a minimum amount of time, enrich people's lives, and prepare them to further their education.
