Hockey Leagues and Open Skating Popular Pastimes
With one of only two public ice rinks in the state, skaters from across the region get good use out of the rink at The Jones Center in Springdale. Whether filled with free open skating, figure skating sessions, adult or youth hockey leagues or broomball -- the newest craze on ice -- The Jones Center ice is in constant use. More than 700 new pair of skates have been purchased and are available to rent for a moderate $2 charge. The ice rink is popular so you're encouraged to call ahead to reserve the free tickets required. To reserve tickets or to confirm the Tuesday through Sunday open skate schedule, call The Jones Center at 756-8090, ext. 101.
