Rodeo of the Ozarks

Experience Americana June 29-July 2

Rodeo (new)

Voted one of the top 5 of Large Outdoor Rodeos in the nation, the Rodeo of the Ozarks takes Springdale and Northwest Arkansas by storm every summer. Combined with an exciting preliminary week of Western Days and the region's two largest parades, the Rodeo of the Ozarks is the source of great family entertainment.

The Rodeo of the Ozarks had its beginning in 1944, the idea of a group of Springdale men and women led by founder "Shorty" Parsons. World War II was at is height - people were working hard around the clock. Entertainment and relief from the unrelenting headlines were needed. Hence, the rodeo was born. Now, more than 50 years later, at the same site, the Rodeo of the Ozarks comes alive the four days ending on the first Saturday of July.

From small wooden bleachers and hand-rigged bucking chutes made from oak timber cut just days before. Today's stadium features professional holding pens and chutes, a covered west grandstand and seating for more than 11,000.

Today, as in the past, there is still the feeling of patriotism for country and people - a native in-born pride for the accomplishments of the city and the area that is the Rodeo of the Ozarks.

Each year, immediately following the Rodeo of the Ozarks, organizers delight fans with professional bull riding at the Buckin' In The Ozarks.

Tickets for the Rodeo of the Ozarks and all events at Parsons Stadium can be purchased at the stadium office, 1423 E. Emma Avenue in Springdale (corner of Highway 265 & Emma Avenue) or by phone using your credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover card).

For event information, contact the stadium office at (479) 756-0464 or toll free 1-877-92RODEO (1-877-927-6336).
